Voting has begun for the<br \/>\n5th Annual Chinese Restaurant Awards, and it&#8217;s your duty to help choose<br \/>\nthe best.\n<\/p>\n<p>\nFounded in 2008, the Chinese Restaurant Awards hand out two sets of honours: <a href=\"index.php?section=CriticsChoice\" target=\"_hplink\">Critics&#8217; Choice Awards<\/a> and <a href=\"index.php?section=DinersChoice\" target=\"_hplink\">Diner&#8217;s Choice Awards<\/a>.\n<\/p>\n<p>\nFirst place unofficially comes with Chinese-style, in-your-face bragging rights. Expiration date: never.\n<\/p>\n<p>\nSeven judges are tasked this year to select winners of the the<br \/>\ncritics&#8217; choice awards. According to the awards&#8217; website, gold-winning<br \/>\nsignature dishes are marked for their &quot;excellence of ingredients,<br \/>\ncooking skills, and taste.&quot;<br \/>\n&gt;<br \/>\n&gt; Today, the awards, both critics&#8217; and diners&#8217;, are valued as an<br \/>\ngo-to index of Chinese must-eats. Everything from Northern to Hakka to<br \/>\nSichuan cuisine is available to hungry diners, locals or tourists, who<br \/>\nseek it.\n<\/p>\n<p>\nDiners can cast their ballots in 18 diverse (and delicious) categories. Categories include:\n<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"first\">Best pan-fried Shanghaiese bun<\/li>\n<p><\/p>\n<li>Best Northern Chinese restaurant<\/li>\n<p><\/p>\n<li>Best Hong Kong-style restaurant<\/li>\n<p><\/p>\n<li>Best vegetarian restaurant<\/li>\n<p><\/p>\n<li class=\"last\">Best dim sum restaurant<\/li>\n<p>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\nThis is your time to help recognize the best Chinese food in the Lower Mainland.\n<\/p>\n<p>\nWas that <i>xiaolong bao<\/i> you had six months ago still lingering in your mind?
