A Richmond Original, Built on Cantonese Craft
Bamboo Grove has been part of Richmond’s dining story since 1963. What began as a modest coffee shop grew into one of the city’s most respected Cantonese restaurants. Just north of No. 3 Road and Granville Avenue, it has watched the neighbourhood change around it while remaining a familiar address for diners who appreciate well-executed Cantonese cooking.
Executive Chef Ming Yeung is central to that reputation. A respected chef with a quiet manner and a sure hand at the wok, he brings the precise timing and control of heat that Cantonese cooking demands. His dishes allow the ingredients to speak for themselves, with the depth of flavour and wok hei that reward careful cooking. Under his direction, Bamboo Grove has received multiple Chinese Restaurant Awards since 2010.
The dining room is intimate and welcoming, a comfortable setting for a meal with family or friends. Its long history is part of the appeal, but the cooking is what gives diners a reason to return. Bamboo Grove remains a valued part of Richmond’s Cantonese dining scene, with a reputation built over decades at the stove.
