8th Annual Chinese Restaurant Awards wrap another outstanding year. The Awards Ceremony, held at the River Rock Show Theatre, and recognizing the winners of the Critics’ Choice Signature Dish Awards, Social Media Choice Awards and Diners’ Choice Awards, was the culmination of a year-long process of defining and celebrating the ‘Best in Chinese Cuisine’ in Metro Vancouver.

East Meets West, An Epicurean Feast : Paris x Vancouver

In celebration of the 8th Annual Chinese Restaurant Awards, Shangri-La Hotel, Vancouver and Market by Jean-Georges presented East Meets West, an epicurean feast prepared in collaboration between four gastronomic giants.

Flying in for two nights only, from the prestigious Michelin-starred restaurants at Shangri-La Hotel, Paris, are award-winning chefs Christophe Moret and Samuel Lee Sum. Representing the West Coast is homegrown talent Chef Ken Nakano from Shangri-La Hotel, Vancouver, and internationally acclaimed Master Pastry Chef Thomas Haas.  These four master chefs came together to prepare a seven-course menu that expresses each chef’s distinctive food philosophy, while presenting the best of French, Cantonese, and West Coast cuisine. Together with five award winning Chinese chefs, Chinese Restaurant Awards supported Tapestry Foundation for Health Care’s fundraising efforts for Mount Saint Joseph Hospital again in 2016. The five chefs  presented an exclusive Chinese culinary tasting for the 800 guests at the reception.
