
Thank you for casting your votes for your favourite Chinese restaurants in Greater Vancouver. The result of the 5th annual Diners Choice Awards is shown below.
The Diners have spoken. From November 15th, 2012 through January 4th, 2013, diners from all over the Lower Mainland voted for their favourite restaurants for the 5th annual Diners' Choice Awards. Nominated restaurants had been recommended by the public during the week of November 5th to November 14th, 2012. The most nominated restaurants (up to 20) were then put forward for voting. Five new categories were added to the 5th annual Diners’ Choice Awards, for a total of eighteen categories. These five new categories include: Best Taiwanese Beef Noodle, Best Pan-fried Shanghainese Bun, Best B.C. Dungeness Crab, Best Stir-fried Eggs with Prawns, and Best Salt & Pepper Pork Loin. The public’s enthusiastic participation in last year’s categories of Best Xiao Long Bao and Best King Crab inspired the changes in 2013. Each new category was decided based on the dish’s reputation as being popular or as a staple dish in a particular region in China or containing an outstanding local ingredient for Chinese cuisine. 34,273 votes were cast resulting in some very close races. All the winners, as listed below, will be invited to accept their awards at the 5th annual Chinese Restaurant Awards ceremony at River Rock Show Theatre in Richmond on February 26th, 2013.
