 Mamalee Malaysian Delight
Whenever I travel to Singapore, I can have Hainanese chicken rice everyday. Mama Lee is no secret to Vancouver locals (Its name was Cafe D`Lite before 2013). It’s where you can taste a good plate of authentic chicken rice from the owner Malaysia-born Mama Lee’s home recipe. The combination of chilli sauce and ginger paste also makes up a perfect condiment to go with chicken rice. During this pandemic, I have been ordering takeouts through their website several times. And, as someone who has sweet tooth, my order always includes the Milo Dinosaur or Bubur Chacha.

What to order:
One whole/half/ chicken (optional: yellow rice)
Milo Dinosaur
Bubur Chacha

To savour: Order directly on their website.

Sushi Bar Shu is my recent to-go place for fresh Chirashi don. The chefs care their fish selection. Whenever I see them post up Uni news for next day’s order, I know my next day’s meal is planned. I can’t wait to dine in and have seat at their sushi bar. We all miss dining in!

 Fufú Café
In the past few years, the fluffy souffle pancakes have become one of the most trendy and iconic dessert in Tokyo, Japan. Numbers of pancake shops have opened and offer their creative, eye-popping and mouthful Japanese style fluffy pancakes. Now, the trend is hot in Vancouver. Fufú Café is a spacious cafe located on West Broadway. The cafe offers over 10 kinds of pancakes on the menu including limited flavours with seasonal items, special themes or even savoury choices. I recently took challenge to make soufflé pancake at home and had tasted at few places to compare with my own version. I found Fufú Café has my favourite here in Vancouver that can be my goal to make better soufflé pancake.

 Landmark Hot Pot House
This is one of the few Vancouver restaurants I can call it home and my dining room for late supper. If you have dined at Landmark for more than 20 years, you can feel the same as me. I truly miss the vibes in the space, the chat with the managers and owner Chef Lee. They are always generous on food portion to everyone. The quality of ingredients they select for your hotpot food is the top of the top. I can’t wait to go back soon when they can open for dining-in.
