Navigate the borderless vision of the world’s Chinese and Taiwanese cuisines

Established in 2008, the Chinese Restaurant Awards have since become the world’s longest-running Chinese culinary awards event. Our core mission revolves around elevating the reputation of high-quality Chinese and Taiwanese cuisines in Greater Vancouver, while also serving as a vital platform for cross-cultural culinary dialogue. Today, we are widely acknowledged as the foremost authority on Chinese and Taiwanese food, offering invaluable insights and recommendations to local and visiting food enthusiasts across Metro Vancouver.

The team behind the Chinese Restaurant Awards

Our team, comprised of passionate professionals in food, media, and marketing, shares a profound enthusiasm for Chinese cuisine. Our overarching goal is to champion and celebrate regional Chinese culinary traditions in North America. Throughout the years, we’ve reached significant milestones through initiatives such as the DINING by the Awards series in 2019, 2022, and 2023, the Chinese Master Chefs Master Finale Gala in 2022, the 2016 East Meets West: Paris x Vancouver dining event, and the 2014 Chinese Master Chefs Gold Medal Dinner. Additionally, we established the Chinese Restaurant Awards Scholarship and spearheaded impactful culinary tourism campaigns like the #Taste city series in Hong Kong, Shanghai, Suzhou, Hangzhou, and Taipei.

Chinese Master Chefs

Chinese Master Chefs

Skillful, creative, and passionate are some of the qualities of a great chef. However, achieving the title of a master requires much more. The Chinese Restaurant Awards created the Chinese Master Chefs program to honor talented chefs who have not only achieved success in their own right, but who also value traditions and blaze a trail for many aspiring young chefs in the Chinese culinary industry. Through this program, the public can learn about the Masters’ culinary journeys and their creative use of Canada’s freshest ingredients.
